IN YOUR EYES was written by Martijn Spierenburg, the keyboard player from the successful group Within Temptation.
CONTA SEMPRE SU DI ME was written for Petra by producer Tjeerd Oosterhuis.
IF CAME THE HOUR was written by Rolf Lovland (Secret Garden). This piece was originally an instrumental track, the Irish lyricist Brendan Graham provided the inspired words to the song. Petra presents it here for the first time ever.
WE CAN’T LET GO is also written by Tjeerd Oosterhuis, and is sung in duet with Simone Kleinsma.
REQUIEM was written by Desmond Child (a.o. Ricky Martin, Cher, Kiss, Michael Bolton) and Harry Sommerdahl (Ace of Bace, American Idol).
LIBERTA was written by Jeroen Englebert and Tjeerd Oosterhuis. Jeroen produced, arranged and wrote most of the tracks on Petra’s previous albums. He has just finished Rembrandt – the musical.
HERE AND NOW was written by members of the gothic rock group After Forever. Petra delivered the heartfelt lyrics that provided the title of the present album
YOU RAISE ME UP is also written by Rolf Lovland and Brendan Graham. This song has been interpreted by many vocalists, but Rolf feels that Petra has recorded his favourite female version.
GRANDE AMORE MIO was originally called “Ruthless Queen” and was a world-wide hit for the group Kayak. The composers were very pleased with Petra’s version.
LIFE GOES ON was originally called Liberi Da Noi and was a hit song for the composer Gigi d’Alessio in Italy. The duet partner on this track is Gigi Finizio, a popular Italian artist from Naples.
DOMANI was written for Andrea Bocelli.
LONELY WITHOUT YOU was written by a team of Swedish and American composers who have also written for and produced Il Divo.
WIDE OPEN is also written by Tjeerd Oosterhuis and Alain Clark. The sumptuous string arrangement and simple yet heartfelt lyrics make this a perfect conclusion to the album.
